For me, building has always been about translation. It started in Vancouver, working alongside an Indigenous community to preserve their endangered language through digital tools — and learning, very quickly, that technology means nothing if you don't first understand the people you're building for.
Luckily, what I love most is unlocking people's stories. Languages are how I do it — I've learned five so far — and traveling is where I put them to use. Years of backpacking and collecting notes in my travel diary from newfound friends have taught me to notice the small things: the unique ways people move through their worlds.
That's what I bring to every product I build. Design systems and code are just dialects to me — different ways of solving the same human problems. My work turns blurry ideas into experiences where people feel truly seen.
P.S. — There are a few interactive stowaways hidden across this flight log. See if you can spot them before departure :)
